福州の城内には、于山・乌山・屏山の「三山」が鼎立し、閩江はまるで緑の帯のように街を貫いて流れている。
史書によれば、五代梁の開平二年、閩王・王審知が城を拡張し、風光明媚な于山・乌山・屏山を城内に取り込んだことで、福州は「山が城の中にあり、城が山の中にある」という独特の景観「三山一水」を形成した。
本プロジェクトでは、この福州の象徴でもある“三山一水”をコンセプトとし、空間デザインを試みている。
Within the historic city of Fuzhou, the “Three Mountains” — Yushan, Wushan, and Pingshan — stand in a tripartite formation, while the Min River flows through the city like a band of green.
According to historical records, in the second year of Kaiping during the Later Liang of the Five Dynasties period, the Min King Wang Shenzhi expanded the city walls and incorporated the scenic mountains of Yushan, Wushan, and Pingshan into the urban fabric. This intervention gave rise to Fuzhou’s distinctive landscape known as “Three Mountains and One River” — a city where mountains reside within the city, and the city exists within the mountains.
This project adopts “Three Mountains and One River”, a defining symbol of Fuzhou, as its guiding concept and explores its spatial interpretation through architectural design.its guiding concept and explores its spatial interpretation through architectural design.
